Smart Internet 2010 offers an analysis of the way the
internet might evolve from the perspective of its end-users
in the coming years. The prime research questions being
addressed are :
. What might the Internet be like in 2010
. What positions are taken by different people and institutional
interests about the future of the internet
. What are the possible outcomes for end-users towards
2010
Smart Internet 2010 forms part of the major research program
undertaken by the Smart Technology Cooperative Research
Centre in Australia. The prime emphasis of the research
is to make sense of the likely complex changes related
to Internet futures from a user.

There is no cost to attend the talk.
However, the auditorium can only accommodate 200 people
and it will be on a first come first served basis.
The Sydney Morning Herald has chosen
Professor Trevor Barr as one of the 20 influential thinkers
about major future issues facing Australia. His four major
books have each been standard references in university
and media courses for may years and influential in policy
formulation. He has been employed as a senior advisor
or consultant by a number of government and industry bodies,
including Commission for the Future.
He is Professor of Media and Communications
at Swinburnne Unniveersity. He was the inaugural Director
of the Australian Electronics Development Centre, an initiative
of the Commonwealth and Victorian governments to develop
small and medium sized companies in information based
industries. He is currently Co-Chair of the Telstra Consumer
Consultative Council, a national consumer advisory body
to Telstra.
CMCF was established as a society in
2001. It was designated by the Malaysian Communications
and Multimedia Commission in April 2001. Thee Content
Forum's role is to ensure that content within the jurisdiction
of the Code conform to the rules in the Content Code.
It co-ordinates the activities of its members to achieve
the highest compliance with the Code.
The Content Code sets out the rules
- drawn up by broadcasters, content creators/distributors,
audiotext hosting service providers, advertisers, civic
groups and internet access services providers - for what
is acceptable content. The Code could be viewed and downloaded
